Windows license Activation
On your computer is pre-installed Microsoft Windows license, which needs activation. the license can come in 2 different ways
1. A sticker with a field that can be scratched
2. A digital license
If you choose not to activate your license within 30 days, your computer will tell you that you have installed a “not valid/registered” license.
1. How to activate your pre-installed Microsoft Windows, sticker with a scratching field on your computer:
1. In order to activate the license you need an activation key (code), which you will find on the back of your laptop. For desktop the activation key can be found on the side, on the top or on the back of computers.
2. You find the activation key (5 x 5 digits) by carefully scratching off the marked grey field of the sticker with e.g. a coin. Write down the activation key or take a picture of it with your smartphone.
3.Make sure your computer is connected to a power supply or a power cord before starting it.
- Follow the automatic setup of your computer settings and user account on the computer.
- After your computer has restarted, you will need to accept the Windows-license. In order to accept the license, click” Accept”.
- Enter your personal information, and select preferred settings by answering “yes” or “no” to the questions that appear on the screen.
4. After personal information and preferred computer settings are selected, the computer will restart in order to finish installing the settings.
In order to verify if your Microsoft Windows license is enabled correctly please follow the next steps:
- Click on the ”Windows Start” on the desktop (bottom left corner).
- Click on or search after ”Control Panel”.
- In the Control Panel click on ”System and Security”.
- Then click ”System” and find ”Windows activation”. Here you click on the blue hyperlink to the right ”Activate Windows”.
- You are now on the page ”Activation”. Here you scroll down and find ”Change product key”.
- Then enter your Activation Key and click ”Next”. The computer will write ”Windows is activated”.
2. How to activate Windows digital license
1. To activate the digital license, turn on your computer as normal and set it up.
2. When the device is set up, please connect it to Wi-Fi.
3. Go the start button (the windows logo)
4. Select settings,
5. Select update and security
6. Select activation, and check if the computer is still connected to Wi-fi.
7. The windows license should now automatically be activated.
